Jan. 7th, 2007 10:34 pmJust watched Confession of Pain / 傷城 (Seung Sing) this afternoon.

( Synopsis + Spoiler )
Since it was directed by Andrew Lau & Alan Mak (the ones who did Infernal Affairs), I expected a lot from this movie. I really thought this would be another mind-blowing movie. But, sadly, the storyline is predictable and disappointing. Takeshi Kaneshiro did a really good job in his role. Not too over the top, but thoughtful. I expected more from Tony Leung (antagonist role), but he was just one-dimensionally moody and distant in this movie. No strong emotions - no joy, no hate, even though his character experiences some really traumatic events, he looks tired. In all, it's a pretty average movie. Don't go in expecting Infernal Affairs quality work.
